The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned an Israeli airstrike in Gaza that killed 27 people, mostly women and children.
That airstrike on a Palestinian refugee camp in central Gaza killed 10 women and seven children. A separate Israeli bombing killed five people.
In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:
“Every day the far-right Israeli government commits new war crimes targeting civilians in Gaza. It is able to continue committing these crimes against humanity because the Biden administration, while mouthing mild protestations, continues to offer almost unlimited political and military support for Israel’s genocide. Our nation’s hypocrisy of claiming to stand for international human rights while being complicit in genocide becomes more glaring each day.”
Earlier today, CAIR called on the Biden administration to respect and not interfere with the “clear and credible” arrest warrant applications that the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor is seeking against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant.
