The Massachusetts chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Vincent Ware Sr. as the new Deputy Director, marking a significant expansion of the organization’s leadership team.
This appointment comes at a pivotal time as CAIR-MA also welcomes Aneeqa Abid, an Engagement Coordinator to enhance support for Massachusetts residents affected by violence in Palestine.
Ware brings over 25 years of rich experience in community organizing, advocacy, project and program management, workforce development, government contract compliance, and youth development programming. His career began in Miami-Dade County, where he was instrumental in organizing crime prevention programs.
Over the years, Ware has held key roles including Vice President of Programs at the NIA Group Inc., and managerial positions at the Urban League of Broward County and the Opportunity Industrialization Center of South Florida.
In his new role at CAIR-MA, Ware will oversee community outreach and media engagement. His deep involvement with community services extends through his roles with the Muslim American Society of Boston, the Greater Boston Reentry Task Force, the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, and the NAACP.
The appointments of Ware and Abid nearly doubled the size of CAIR-MA’s team, with the anticipated announcement of the hire of an additional attorney later in the summer. This growth highlights the community’s increasing need and strong support for CAIR-MA’s efforts to protect Muslim rights in Massachusetts.
“These hires are historic for CAIR-MA as we appoint our first-ever Deputy Director and Engagement Coordinator,” said Tahirah Amatul-Wadud, Executive Director of CAIR-MA. “Vincent’s extensive background in community service and his passion for social justice are exactly what we need to drive our mission forward in these challenging times.”
CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
