The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said that the Biden administration’s failure to hold the Israeli government accountable for any of its war crimes is enabling ongoing surge in ethnic cleansing targeting Palestinians in the West Bank by the Israeli government and settlers backed by the military.
The Norwegian Refugee Council reported that three communities comprising 119 Palestinians have been forced out over the past 10 days after Israeli settlers attacked community members in their homes, erected new settler outposts and blocked access to water. Two of those communities, Al-Farsiya Khallet Khader and Al-Farisiya al-Zu’bi, have been completely depopulated, while only one family remains in the third community, Ein al-Hilweh – Um al-Jmal.

In a statement, CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“The openly racist, far-right and increasingly out-of-control Israeli government is attempting to displace as many Palestinians as possible, both in Gaza and the West Bank. These latest acts of ethnic cleansing are happening because the Israeli government does not expect to face any accountability or real consequences from President Biden. The Biden administration must, at long last, use American financial leverage to force the Israeli government to end the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank and stop the genocide in Gaza.”
He noted that 1,285 Palestinians have been displaced in the West Bank since October 2023.
