CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad Again Named to List of World’s ‘500 Most Influential Muslims’ 

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, said today that its National Executive Director Nihad Awad has again been named to “The Muslim 500: The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims.”  Awad has been named to the annual list a number of times.

American Muslims named to the list include Awad, Dalia Mogahed, Linda Sarsour, Khaled Baydoun, Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and André Carson (D-IN), Imam Omar Suleiman, Imam Siraj Wahhaj, and a number of other American Muslim leaders, artists, media personalities, scholars, businesspeople, and activists.

Awad’s entry on the 2025 list states in part:  

“Nihad Awad is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). CAIR is the most prominent Muslim lobby group in the US and is frequently sought out by the media and politicians for the Islamic perspective on events.”

The annual list is an initiative of the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre, an independent research entity affiliated with the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought. The Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought is a non-governmental, independent institute headquartered in Amman, Jordan.
