The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed the introduction of a hate crime reporting hotline in Nevada.
After nine months of planning, the Nevada statewide hate crime reporting hotline is now operational. Victims can report hate crimes to 775-687-4283 as well as learn more about services that could provide assistance. While hotline staff may refer victims to law enforcement, the Nevada Attorney General’s office says the information the hotline receives will not be reported to law enforcement.

“Reports of hate crimes must be taken seriously by law enforcement and fully investigated,” said CAIR Research and Advocacy Director Corey Saylor. “We welcome the introduction of this hotline and urge any states that do not have one to set one up.”
