“We’ve been proud to bring Muslim Day at the Capitol to our community since 2014, and this year it is crucial for our community to stand up for our values and communicate with elected leaders,”said CAIR Oklahoma Executive Director Veronica Laizure. “It’s our responsibility to ensure that our legislators hear from every segment of the community, and Oklahoma Muslims are standing up for what we believe in: peace, justice, and equity for all our neighbors, here and abroad.”
This yearly event brings hundreds of Oklahoma Muslims to the State Capitol for education, advocacy, and community building. Educational panel topics include Advocacy Basics, Storytelling for the Community, and building relationships with elected leaders from across the political spectrum.
CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
