(COLUMBUS, OH – 7/22/2025) — On Wednesday, July 23, the Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) in Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton, alongside local and national interfaith and civic organizations, plan to hold a press conference launching #HungerStrikeForGaza, a campaign demanding an end to Israel’s blockade that is causing mass starvation in Gaza.
Over 2.5 million Palestinians, half of them children, are facing catastrophic hunger as humanitarian aid trucks remain blocked just miles from Gaza. Advocates say this deliberate starvation campaign amounts to a war crime and are calling for urgent international intervention.
Scheduled speakers include Muslim and Jewish faith leaders, doctors, and grassroots organizers who plan to announce their participation in a solidarity hunger strike and urge others to join and amplify the call through social media under the hashtag #HungerStrikeForGaza.
