CAIR Action Alert: Tell Congress to ‘Choose America Over AIPAC’ After Poll Shows Americans Overwhelmingly Oppose U.S. Weapons for Israel’s Genocide

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on Congress to “pick America over AIPAC” in response to a Quinnipiac poll showing that 50 percent of voters recognize that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, six in 10 voters (60 percent) oppose sending military aid to Israel, and an equal number of voters now express sympathy for Palestinians and Israelis (37 percent to 36 percent).

According to Quinnipiac: “This is an all-time high for the Palestinians and an all-time low for the Israelis since the Quinnipiac University Poll began asking this question of registered voters in December 2001.”

Quinnipiac University National Poll: Support Drops For U.S. Military Aid To Israel As 50% Think Israel Is Committing Genocide In Gaza

CAIR is calling on voters of all backgrounds to take immediate action:

👉 TAKE ACTION NOW: Contact your elected representatives and demand they stop sending military aid to Israel and end all support for the genocide in Gaza.

📢 Tell Congress: The American people will not stand by while our government enables genocide.

In a statement, CAIR said:

“This Quinnipiac poll makes clear that President Trump and Congress are completely out of step with the American people, who do not want more of their tax dollars spent on Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza.

“Members of Congress have a moral and democratic responsibility to pick America over AIPAC by listening to the voters they represent, not warmongering ‘Israel First’ lobby groups.

“Every member of Congress should recognize and condemn the genocide in Gaza and call for an end all U.S. weapons transfers to the Israeli government.”

Earlier today, CAIR condemned an official Israeli government call to “remove” Muslims from Europe as another part of that terror state’s “war on Islam.”

Yesterday, CAIR joined more than 100 U.S. faith-based, human rights, and civil rights organizations in sending a joint letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio calling for urgent action to secure the release of Mohammed Ibrahim, a 16-year-old Palestinian-American from Florida who has been unjustly imprisoned by Israel since February.

Earlier this week, CAIR welcomed a decision by Norway’s $2 trillion wealth fund, the world’s largest, to divest from construction equipment manufacturer Caterpillar and from five Israeli banking groups over Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

CAIR also said Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee’s statements to rabbis confuse his personal religious beliefs with U.S. foreign policy, “violate the separation of church and state and dangerously weaponize accusations of antisemitism to shield Israel and the United States from accountability for the genocide in Gaza.”

Washington, D.C., based CAIR called the Israeli military a “terrorist organization” after Israel slaughtered at least 20 people, including five journalists, in a “double tap” strike on Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza in which one bombing was followed by another to kill first responders – the so-called “double tap.”

Last week, CAIR said that the United Nations official declaration that a man-made famine is occurring in Gaza “must mark the end” of the complicity of the Trump administration and Congress in the Israeli government’s ongoing and escalating genocide.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
