CAIR ACTION ALERT: Tell Congress to Recognize the Gaza Genocide

Join the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights, and advocacy organization in calling on Congress today and urging them to support Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s historic resolution, thank the courageous lawmakers who have already supported, and call on the Senate to introduce a companion bill.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) introduced a landmark congressional resolution(H.Res.876) formally recognizing the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. Backed by 21 Democratic lawmakers, this measure finally names the reality millions have witnessed: Israel’s deliberate and systematic destruction of civilian life through mass killings, forced displacement, starvation, and the annihilation of Gaza’s infrastructure.

TAKE ACTIONSend a message to Congress today urging them to support Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s historic resolution, thank the courageous lawmakers who have already taken a stand, and call on the Senate to introduce a companion bill.

CAIR worked with Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s office to help get this resolution introduced. The resolution also calls for targeted U.S. sanctions against Israeli officials responsible for these crimes, a critical step toward accountability after more than a year of unchecked violence and U.S.-funded devastation.

Israel’s blockade of Gaza has deliberately strangled the flow of humanitarian aid, creating a manufactured famine that has devastated an already besieged population. Even after last month’s U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Israel has continued to restrict the entry of food, fuel, and other essential supplies, tightening the siege instead of easing it. At the same time, Israeli forces have carried out near-daily airstrikes and shootings, openly violating the truce and inflicting new casualties on a population already pushed to the brink.

By mid-November 2025, Gaza’s health authorities reported that more than 69,000 Palestinians have been killed since the genocide began, a catastrophic loss of life that lays bare the scale of destruction and the urgent need for accountability.
