CAIR Says Killing of Unborn Baby and Mother in Gaza Shows Evil of Netanyahu Regime

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on members of Congress to condemn the Israeli government’s escalated daily massacres across Gaza, including the bombing of a family home that resulted in the killing of a pregnant woman and the expulsion and killing of her unborn baby.

Residents searching through the rubble of an Israeli strike in western Gaza City yesterday recovered the body of an unborn baby after the attack killed a pregnant woman, her husband and their five-year-old son. Israeli forces killed at least 18 in Gaza on Sunday.

In a statement, CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:

“The murder of this entire family, including their unborn child, exemplifies the evil of the wanted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu and his openly genocidal government. Despite the so-called ‘ceasefire,’ atrocities like these are daily and escalating occurrences in Gaza. As the Israeli government ripped this innocent child out of their mother’s womb, it is seeking to rip the Palestinian people out of the remaining pieces of their homeland. Members of Congress with any conscience must condemn these massacres of children and call for an immediate end to all American support for these crimes against humanity.”

He noted that last week, CAIR called on members of Congress to condemn Israel’s slaughter of children in Gaza.
