The San Diego office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-San Diego), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned antisemitic hate graffiti – including Nazi swastikas and “KKK” – targeting a private residence housing members of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity and expressed solidarity with Jewish students and community members facing hate and intimidation.
CAIR-San Diego Executive Director Tazheen Nizam said:
“We condemn this hateful act of antisemitic vandalism in the strongest terms. No student or community member should be subjected to harassment, intimidation or hatred because of their religious or ethnic identity.
“We urge the university community and law enforcement to take all incidents of hate vandalism seriously, support those targeted, and work to ensure that all students can live, study and participate in campus life without fear.”
She said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR-San Diego is a chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization. CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
