Join the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in calling on every American to demand justice for Sayfollah (“Saif”) Musallet, a 20-year-old U.S. citizen who was beaten to death by a mob of illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank.
ACT NOW: CLICK HERE TO CONTACT YOUR SENATORS!
Twenty-eight U.S. senators, led by Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen have now signed a congressional letter demanding an independent, U.S.-led investigation into Saif’s killing. These senators are standing up for American lives and the rule of law. But many in the Senate have yet to act. With CAIR’s click and send action alert:
- If your senators signed the letter, you can thank them.
- If they haven’t, you can urge them to join the call for justice.
Sayfollah Musallet’s killing is part of a growing pattern in which Israeli soldiers and settlers have murdered U.S. citizens of Palestinian descent without accountability. In most other cases involving the killing of an American abroad, the U.S. government launches a full investigation and demands justice. In this case, however, that duty has been neglected, an unacceptable failure that raises serious concerns of anti-Palestinian bias and political double standards.
CAIR previously submitted a formal letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Attorney General Pam Bondi urging the U.S. government to fulfill its legal and moral obligation by launching a full investigation and prosecuting those responsible under American law.
Washington, D.C., based CAIR specifically called on the U.S. government to exercise its clear legal authority under federal law and existing treaties to investigate the killing and ensure accountability. This includes:
- 18 U.S.C. § 2332(a), which grants the United States jurisdiction to prosecute the murder of American nationals abroad; and
- 18 U.S.C. § 2332(b), which authorizes the prosecution of conspiracies and violent acts committed overseas by foreign actors against U.S. citizens.
CAIR also called on federal officials to invoke the U.S.-Israel Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) to secure evidence, compel cooperation, and move toward real accountability in this case.
Congress must act when an American citizen is murdered—regardless of their race, religion, or where the crime occurred. Take action today. Urge your senators to support a full, independent U.S. investigation into the killing of Sayfollah Musallet. Justice for Saif cannot wait.
