On August 18, the Council on American-Islamic Relations participated in a vigil held to honor a gas station attendant who was killed in an apparent robbery at an Exxon station in Hanover, Md.
CAIR’s Maryland Outreach Manager Zainab Chaudry joined religious leaders, elected officials, law enforcement officers, and community leaders in speaking at the event that was in part organized by Councilman Pete Smith. Speakers condemned the senseless act of violence which took the life of Rajinder Kumar, an Indian immigrant who leaves behind a wife and two children in India.
The Anne Arundel County Muslim Council has partnered with the FBI and local law enforcement to offer a reward of $27,000 for tips that lead to arrest and indictment. Anyone with information is asked to call the Anne Arundel County Homicide Unit at (410) 222-8610.
