PERRYSBURG — Class is back in session at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo on Sunday, the first time since an arsonist torched the mosque in September.
52-year-old Randy Linn sits in jail after receiving a 20-year sentence for starting the blaze. About $1.5 million of smoke and water damage covered the walls and burned the floor of the prayer room. School classes resumed at Perrysburg High School and prayer sessions were held throughout the community during the six months it took to rebuild the Islamic Center.
Students and teachers celebrated the return to the Islamic Center with classroom parties, recess on the playground and prayers in the renovated prayer room. (Full article)
