CAIR ACTION ALERT: Tell the Senate to Vote NO on ICE Funding

Join the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in urging your Senators to VOTE NO on new funding for ICE after the murder of another U.S. citizen, Alex Pretti, the earlier murder of Renée Good, and a pattern of violent, militarized federal immigration operations that have terrorized communities.

These are not isolated incidents. They are the predictable result of an out-of-control agency that operates with impunity, engages in racial profiling, brazenly lies about shootings caught on tape, brutalizes peaceful protests, journalists and legal observers.

TAKE ACTION: Click here to tell your Senators to Vote NO on funding ICE. End ICE’s campaign of violence and siege of American cities.

We need you to take action and demand that your Senators:

  • Vote NO on any new funding for ICE in this week’s funding bills.
  • Require independent, transparent investigations of all ICE and CBP abuses and full cooperation with local law enforcement agencies investigating the shootings of Ms. Good and Mr. Pretti.
  • End street-level immigration policing and dragnet operations, limiting enforcement to actual, individualized immigration violations by dangerous individuals convicted of crimes.
  • Ban discriminatory profiling based on race, religion, appearance, accent, workplace, or perceived immigration status.
  • Reinstate community-protective safeguards, including policies consistent with the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act (S. 455 / H.R. 1061)
  • Ensure real accountability, not internal reviews designed to shield agencies from consequences.

Anything less is a failure of Congress’s responsibility to protect civil liberties, public safety, and the rule of law.
