CAIR-Kansas: Kansas Catholic education center defaced with swastikas – Union of Catholic Asian News

CAIR-FL: Palestinian-American man from Tampa beaten to death by settlers in West Bank: reports – WFLA

The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights group, is also calling on the Trump administration to take action against the Israeli government in response to American citizen deaths.

“We strongly condemn these racist Israeli settlers, backed and enabled by the Netanyahu government, for beating an American citizen to death in the occupied West Bank. This murder is only the latest killing of an American citizen by illegal Israeli settlers or soldiers. Every other murder of an American citizen has gone unpunished by the American government, which is why the Israeli government keeps wantonly killing American Palestinians and, of course, other Palestinians. If President Trump will not even put America first when Israel murders American citizens, then this is truly an Israel First administration.”

CAIR-NY: Settlement in case of East Setauket woman who sued after Suffolk police made her remove hijab, leading to policy change – Newsday

The Suffolk police department’s policy regarding religious head garments changed after the complaint was filed on Jan. 8, 2024, to allow officers to photograph detainees wearing religious garments that do not “substantially cover an individual’s face,” according to a news release from the Council on American-Islamic Relations New York, which joined Fahmy and the Manhattan law firm Emery Celli Brinckerhoff Abady Ward & Maazel LLP in filing the federal complaint.

CAIR-CA: Modesto-area Muslims react to Trump’s latest travel ban and its impact – Modesto Bee

“We just want to be clear, we as CAIR condemn this ban for its anti-immigrant, Islamophobic and ideologically driven motives, even though it’s presented as a measure to increase national security,” said Moona Siddiqui, managing immigrant rights attorney at the Council on American-Islamic Relations, during a June 13 virtual town hall.

The proclamation does not affect the current status of people in the United States who already have visas, but CAIR still suggests that anyone from a country on the full or partial ban list keep their documents with them at all times.

During the virtual town hall, CAIR advised attendees to avoid unnecessary travel even if they do have permanent residency.

“Generally, if you are from one of the countries listed, whether on the partial ban or the full or complete ban, you shouldn’t be considering travel outside of the country at this time,” Siddiqui said.
