CAIR: Hegseth’s war on military “beardos” stirs religious, health concerns – Axios

The Council on American-Islamic Relations sent a letter to Hegseth requesting additional information on religious exemptions and stressed that religious freedom “is a constitutional right, even in uniform.”

“Ensuring that Muslim, Sikh, Jewish, and other religious personnel can continue to serve honorably without compromising their faith is consistent with both constitutional principles and established DoW policy,” the letter read.

CAIR Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid says he’s concerned in light of the political climate and the attack on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc on Sunday. 

“We encourage all mosques in the state of Michigan to review the care community safety kit an to make sure that they have the property security measures for the Friday congressional prayers.”
