Eyas Abdeen joined the Sacramento Muslim community in 1990. His professional career started as a software engineer. Then in 2004, he pivoted his career path to finance and strategy. Over the past 18 years, he worked in investments and corporate finance. Currently, he works at the California Department of General Service in the Natural Gas Services unit, where he manages the hedging and future purchasing of natural gas commodities for the State of California. He has been an active member of the Sacramento community for over three decades. He served as the Treasurer for the CAIR-Sacramento Valley Governing Board in 2012, then in 2015, he became the President of the Sacramento office and the Treasurer of CAIR-California, and just recently as of 2021, he joined the CAIR-National Board of Directors. Also, he serves as the CFO for Al-Arqam Islamic School & College Preparatory in Sacramento since 2011. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time and traveling with his family. Also, he enjoys reading, tennis and cycling.
