Gov. Greg Abbott’s sweeping assault on Texas Muslims deploys a familiar methodology once used against Jews and Catholics. The targets have changed, but the pattern remains: Portray a religious minority as an alien threat seeking to create a “state within a state.” Sadly, Abbott’s recent actions against our Muslim organization echo those older bigotries.
