BREAKING: CAIR Condemns Israel for Beating Death of American Citizen, Calls on Trump To ‘Put America First’

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned illegal Israeli settlers backed and enabled by the Israeli government for beating an American citizen to death in the illegally-occupied West Bank, and called on President Trump to put America first by holding Israel accountable for the latest murder of a U.S. citizen.

On Friday, July 11th, illegal Israeli settlers supported by the Israeli government, reportedly murdered an American citizen, Saif al-Din Musalat (also named as Sayfollah Musallet).

[NOTE: The victim was reportedly born in Florida and grew up in Port Charlotte.]

In a statement, CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:

“We strongly condemn these racist Israeli settlers, backed and enabled by the Netanyahu government, for beating an American citizen to death in the occupied West Bank. This murder is only the latest killing of an American citizen by illegal Israeli settlers or soldiers. Every other murder of an American citizen has gone unpunished by the American government, which is why the Israeli government keeps wantonly killing American Palestinians and, of course, other Palestinians. If President Trump will not even put America first when Israel murders American citizens, then this is truly an Israel First administration.”

Earlier this year, CAIR sent a letter to the Justice Department calling on it to prosecute Israel’s murder of American citizens, including journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. The DOJ responding by incorrectly claiming that it did not have jurisdiction to prosecute the murder of Americans overseas.

He noted that Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed a number of U.S. citizens, including Abu Akleh, peace activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 80-year-old Omar Assad14-year-old Omar Mohammad RabeaRachel Corrie, and others.

Earlier today, CAIR marked the 30th anniversary of the massacre of more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica with a call for an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
