BREAKING: CAIR-CT to Join Community Leaders Calling for Hate Crime Charges for Attack on Rep. Khan

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 7/16/2023) – On Monday, July 17, the Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CT) will join community leaders at a news conference and rally in Hartford, Conn., to call for hate crime charges for an alleged attack on state Rep. Maryam Khan and her family while they were attending Eid al-Adha (EED-AL-ODD-HA) prayers at that city’s XL Center.    

A hearing for the alleged attacker is scheduled for Monday. CAIR-CT called for a hate crime probe at the time of the incident late last month.
