BREAKING: CAIR Denounces Racist KKK Flyer Distributed to N. Virginia Homes Targeting School Board Members

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/17/21) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, tonight denounced a racist, anti-Semitic KKK flyer, signed by the “Loyal White Knights, targeting members of the Fairfax County School Board and distributed to homes in Virginia this week.”

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) issued a statement that said in part:

“FCPS strives to create an environment where every student, parent, teacher, employee, community member and Board member feels welcome in our schools, and the sentiments expressed in these flyers have no place within FCPS or our community.”

“Every American must speak out against the growing promotion of hatred and bigotry in our society by a twisted minority of extremists who seek racial division and strife,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Public officials have the duty to stand against systemic anti-Black racism and white supremacy.”

Earlier today, Hooper similarly condemned racist neo-Nazi graffiti targeting a neighborhood in Lincoln County, Miss. The graffiti included a Nazi swastika along with other white supremacist icons.
