In a statement, CAIR Deputy Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“The Israeli government’s U.S.-backed starvation of the people of Gaza is a historic atrocity. Unlike so many prior genocides, this one is being live-streamed across the world. President Trump and every member of Congress can clearly watch as Israel’s openly racist, sociopathic government uses American weapons and American taxpayer dollars to starve and bomb a defenseless, trapped population to death.
“President Trump could end this insanity by calling Benjamin Netanyahu and demanding that he accept a comprehensive, permanent ceasefire deal that ends the genocide for good, frees all captives, and liberates Gaza from Israeli occupation or risk losing U.S. military, financial and diplomatic support.
“It is long past time for President Trump to do what President Biden never did: pick up the phone and make the demand.”
