CAIR Calls on Biden Admin to Condemn Israeli Killing of 6-Year-Old Hind Rajab, Her Family and Paramedics

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 2/10/2024) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on the Biden administration to condemn Israel’s killing in Gaza of six-year-old Hind Rajab, her family and the paramedics sent to rescue her.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) posted on X: “The Palestine Red Crescent ambulance was discovered bombed the Tal al-Hawa area of #Gaza City, resulting in the killing of crew members Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun, who had been missing since a rescue mission for the child Hind Rajab 12 days ago.”

Zeino and Al-Madhoun were sent after Israeli tank fire targeted the car the little girl was in, killing all five of her family members. Hind was still alive and spoke to a PRCS operator, begging for someone to help her. “Come take me. Will you come and take me? I’m so scared, please come!” Hind said in a recording released by the PRCS.

Yesterday, CAIR responded to President Biden’s statement that the Israeli government’s campaign in Gaza has been “over the top” by calling on the administration to take concrete action to stop the violence.

In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:

“The far-right Israeli government’s murder of Hind Rajab, her family and the paramedics who tried to save them isn’t ‘over the top.’ It’s mass murder. Yet the Biden administration keeps enabling the Netanyahu government’s genocide. How many more children have to die before our government acts?”

Hooper noted that Israel has now killed more than 28,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, and wounded 67,611 others.

CAIR also called on the Biden administration to demand the release of two U.S. citizens reportedly kidnapped overnight in Gaza by Israeli forces and to save other Americans trapped or held hostage in Gaza by securing a ceasefire.
