The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on members of Congress to condemn the slaughter of 46 children in Gaza by Israeli forces and to support an arms embargo against the Israeli government.
Last night, Israeli strikes on Gaza killed at least 104 people, including 46 children. The strikes were the deadliest since the ceasefire began.

In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“Once again, the Israeli government has shown that it will seek every opportunity to massacre Palestinians, this time including 46 children. Israel’s massacre is the latest sign that Israel cannot be trusted with American weapons or bombs. We call on members of Congress to condemn this massacre and express support for an arms embargo on the Israeli government in keeping with U.S. and international law.”
He noted that the strikes coincided with the anniversary of the 1956 Kafr Qasim massacre in which Israeli forces killed 49 Palestinian civilians who were returning home from work.
Awad also noted that Israel has illegally prevented representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from visiting hundreds of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
