The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned congressionally unauthorized U.S. strikes on Yemen that killed at least 53, reportedly including children and women, and called on the Trump administration to end this and other regional conflicts by forcing an end to the Gaza genocide.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“The Trump administration promised to put America first and pursue peace abroad, not to put Israel first and launch new unnecessary wars overseas. We oppose this congressionally-unauthorized bombing of Yemen, which reportedly killed numerous civilians, including women and children.
“Instead of repeating President Biden’s mistake of entangling our nation in a forever war with Yemen, President Trump should resolve the source of the conflict with the Houthis by forcing the Israeli government to permanently end its genocidal campaign of slaughter and starvation in Gaza. If the genocide ends, all the other regional conflicts it triggered will likely end.”
