CAIR Calls Sen. Tom Cotton ‘Accomplice in Genocide’ After He Claims There is No Famine in Gaza, ‘Palestine is a Made Up Fiction’

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) an “accomplice in genocide” after he was caught on video denying the existence of the Israeli-manufactured famine in Gaza and falsely claiming that “Palestine is a made up fiction.”

In response, CAIR said:

“Senator Tom Cotton’s disgraceful denial of the existence of the Palestine people and the starvation that the Israeli government has deliberately imposed on the people of Gaza places him squarely in the camp of those who are an accomplice to genocide.

“Even President Trump has acknowledged that people are starving in Gaza. For a sitting U.S. senator to dismiss reality for the benefit of a foreign government engaged in genocide is not only shameful — it’s dangerous. His dehumanizing rhetoric encourages continued Israeli war crimes.

“Palestine is real, the State of Palestine is recognized by many countries around the world, and the Palestinian people are real human beings with the right to life and dignity. These facts cannot be erased by racist propaganda from a genocidal, Israel First politician.”

Yesterday, CAIR said that comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s recent claim that the racist Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is somehow “better than” the growing worldwide campaign for a “Free Palestine” is part of the efforts of those supporting Israel’s genocide to dehumanize the Palestinian people and those who support their call for freedom and justice.

Earlier this week, CAIR called for the removal of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) from Gaza after an investigation by the BBC revealed that a biker gang with a history of violent anti-Muslim rhetoric is in charge of the foundation’s security.
