The Chicago chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today urged the dismissal of a police detective over allegedly posting hundreds of social media posts expressing anti-Muslim, racist and bigoted sentiments.
A veteran Chicago police detective is under investigation over posts he reportedly made expressing anti-Muslim and racist sentiments.
“Law enforcement officers pledge an oath to serve and protect all citizens,” said CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab. “If the investigation determines that this detective did in fact make those posts, we urge the department to dismiss him.”
He said that CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
