The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today commended the Islamic Circle of North America’s (ICNA) outgoing emir, or leader, Dr. Mohsin Al-Ansari for his years of leadership and service, and welcomed the organization’s new emir Saad Khazi.
Dr. Al-Ansari will be ending his term as ICNA’s emir after serving in that position since 2023. ICNA has elected Saad Khazi to be its new emir. ICNA is an Islamic North American grassroots umbrella organization of religious, charitable, educational, policy and humanitarian groups representing hundreds of thousands of Muslims.
In a statement, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said:
“We commend Dr. Mohsin Ansari for his groundbreaking service as leader of ICNA, and we pray that God rewards him and his family for their sacrifices. We congratulate incoming ICNA emir Saad Khazi, and we pray that God grants him success in his role. ICNA is one of the most important organizations—not just Muslim organizations, but organizations–in the United States. We look forward to continuing to work with ICNA to advance just causes here and abroad, God willing.”
