(WASHINGTON, D.C., 2/15/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned several alleged antisemitic incidents that took place on the campus of the University of Denver.
CAIR also welcomed an investigation by administration officials into the incidents.
Three Jewish students at the university reportedly had their doors vandalized. In one incident, a piece of pork was said to be smeared on a dorm room door and left on the doorstep. The other two incidents reportedly involved mezuzahs – religious items containing scrolls that are affixed to doorposts of Jewish homes – being ripped down. The university is investigating and providing resources to students.

“We condemn these alleged antisemitic incidents and welcome the investigation by university officials,” said CAIR National Communications Coordinator Ismail Allison. “Antisemitism and other forms of ethnic or religious hate have no place on college campuses and the safety of students of all faiths must be ensured.”
He said Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
