The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the reported Israeli ban on the Islamic call to prayer from the Ibrahimi Mosque and the projection of an Israeli flag onto the mosque.
The Israeli occupation authority in Al-Khalil (Hebron) has banned, reportedly for the eighth consecutive day, the dawn call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque. Yesterday, Israeli settlers projected the Israeli flag onto the mosque.

In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:
“The far-right Israeli government and its extremist supporters are usurping and desecrating Islamic holy sites as part of their campaign of cultural genocide. The nations of the world, especially Muslim-majority nations, must take action to stop these desecrations. The Biden administration must also change its policy of unlimited support for a government that has violated every international norm and standard.”
He noted that earlier this month, CAIR condemned the takeover of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank by illegal Israeli settlers.
