CAIR Condemns Israel’s Murder of Palestinian Christian Mother and Daughter, Settler Raids on Al Aqsa Mosque, and Calls to Massacre Palestinian Babies

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on members of Congress to speak out following a raid by extremist Israeli settlers raided on the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, a statement by an Israeli party leader calling the murder of Palestinian infants “moral,” and the Israeli military’s murder of a Palestinian Christian mother and daughter in Gaza, among others killed in daily ceasefire violations.

In a statement, CAIR said:

“From the murder of a Palestinian Christian mother and daughter in Gaza to the latest raid of Al Aqsa Mosque to calls for the mass murder of Palestinian babies, the Israeli government is completely out of control. The White House has made clear that it has no intention of holding Israeli politicians, soldiers or settlers for the crimes they commit with American taxpayer dollars, which means more members of Congress must call out this violence and announce support for an arms embargo on Israel. Political leaders of conscience cannot sit back while our government enables the desecration of holy sites and the continued mass murder of children. The Israeli government’s campaign of brutality must end.”

Maysa Abu Daoud and her daughter Mary al-Najjar were among five Palestinians killed in the attack that hit the ground floor of a building in the Remal neighbourhood on Saturday. Their funeral took place on Saturday at Saint Porphyrius Church in Gaza City’s Old City.

Dozens of radical Israeli settlers stormed the Al Aqsa Mosque yesterday. Israeli occupiers reportedly stormed the holy site 26 times in September, while the army banned the Muslim call to prayer 150 times at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said today.

Israeli politician Moshe Feiglin, leader of the Zehut party, which has allied with Bezalel Smotrich’s Religious Zionism in the upcoming general election, described the killing of Palestinian infants in Gaza as a “moral.” In an interview with The Jerusalem Post, he reportedly said, “the enemy is Gaza, not Hamas…the baby that will be born tomorrow in Gaza will do exactly the same.”

This isn’t the first time that Feiglin has called for the killing of infants. In 2025, he told Israel’s Channel 14 that “every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy” and that “not a single Gazan child will be left”. The interviewer asked: “Is it a Jewish point of view to wipe out all of Gaza and annex the West Bank?” “100 percent,” he replied.
