(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/5/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned reported neo-Nazi vandalism of a site in Montana sacred to Native-Americans.
A white supremacist group reportedly took credit for Nazi symbols etched on the Four Dances recreational area, which is located south of Billings, Mont., named after a prominent Crow leader. The vandalism included a Nazi swastika and the numbers 14/88, common white supremacist references to Hitler and a white supremacist slogan. The National Park Service calls the Four Dances a “Special Recreation Management Area and an area of critical environmental concern.”

“We condemn this neo-Nazi desecration of a site sacred to Native-Americans and urge law enforcement authorities to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “The disturbing growth and promotion of white supremacist ideologies must be challenged and repudiated at every level of our society.”
Hooper said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
