The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned neo-Nazi vandalism targeting Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
That school sent a letter to parents saying the vandalism consisting of eggs being thrown at structures and a Nazi swastika spray-painted on a side of a building.
CAIR National Communications Manager Ismail Allison said:
“We unequivocally condemn this hateful act of neo-Nazi vandalism targeting Eldorado High School. Symbols of racist hate and white supremacy have no place in our communities, let alone near institutions of learning. We stand in solidarity with the students, families, and educators affected by this disturbing incident, and we urge law enforcement to investigate it as a possible hate crime. It is imperative that we confront and reject rising extremism wherever it appears.”
He said Washington, D.C., based CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
