The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the silence of the Trump administration after eight more people, including two children, were starved to death in Israel’s U.S.-backed campaign of forced starvation in Gaza.

Yesterday, CAIR said that the United Nations official declaration that a man-made famine is occurring in Gaza “must mark the end” of the complicity of the Trump administration and Congress in the Israeli government’s ongoing and escalating genocide.
The White House has not commented on that declaration.

Israel has slaughtered more than 62,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children. More than 2,000 people have been murdered by Israel while desperately seeking food for their starving families at Israeli-created, U.S.-backed aid concentration sites.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“The Trump administration’s silence in the face of Israel’s deliberate starvation of Palestinian civilians is not only morally bankrupt – it is a form of approval and a sign of our government complicity with the escalating genocide in Gaza. How many more children must die of hunger before this administration and Congress act to end America’s shameful role in this genocide?”
Last week, CAIR called on members of Congress to recognize Israel’s obvious and documented genocide in Gaza after data from an secret Israeli intelligence database shows that least 83 percent of Palestinians slaughtered in Gaza were civilians – not combatants.
CAIR also condemned the “Israel First” firing of Shahed Ghoreishi, the State Department’s top press officer for Israeli-Palestinian affairs. over how to characterize Trump administration policies, including a controversial plan for ethnic cleansing of Gaza.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
