(WASHINGTON D.C., 8/4/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the hanging of a White supremacist banner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Community members from Baton Rouge’s NAACP removed four banners promoting a neo-Nazi organization hung above busy roads and highways on Sunday. Baton Rouge is home to a majority Black population.

“We condemn this clear attempt to intimidate the residents of Baton Rouge with racist propaganda,” said CAIR National Communications Manager Ismail Allison. “Such messages should be repudiated by members of all communities whenever they appear.”
He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
