Muslim civil rights and advocacy group calls Israel’s terror attack on Muslims performing dawn prayer ‘an attack on Islam’
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/10/2024) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today said that if President Biden “gives a damn about human life,” he will freeze the delivery of weapons to Israel and force a ceasefire after Israel slaughtered more than 100 Palestinians at prayer in Gaza.
CAIR called the mass slaughter of Palestinian worshipers “an attack on Islam.”
Israel’s massacre of Palestinians at prayer comes as the U.S. government approved the release of $3.5 billion in taxpayer funds for military aid to Israel.
Israel has already slaughtered some 40,000 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, and has systematically-destroyed the civilian infrastructure in a campaign of ethnic cleansing, mass starvation and genocide.
In a statement, CAIR Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“The Israeli government’s admitted massacre of Palestinian refugees gathering for morning prayer at a school is a brazen act of genocidal state terrorism carried out due to months of U.S. complicity. Blowing up more than 100 Muslims praying to God at dawn is not only an attack on the Palestinian people, but on Islam itself.
“If President Biden gives a damn about human life, he will respond to this horrific school massacre by immediately stopping the flow of offensive weapons to the Israeli government and forcing Netanyahu to agree to the ceasefire that he keeps attempting to sabotage.
“No more calls for Israeli to investigate itself. No more bomb shipments. This U.S.-enabled genocide must end now.”
Yesterday, CAIR said Secretary of State Antony Blinken should resign after reports that he has ended the investigation into the Israel military’s Netzah Yehuda battalion for war crimes in the occupied West Bank, including actions that resulted in the death of 80-year-old Palestinian American Omar Assad.
Washington, D.C., based CAIR also its call for media outlets in the United States and around the world to speak out against Israel’s mass killing of journalists after an Israeli attack hit home of Palestine TV journalist Tamim Ma’mmar, killing him and members of his family.
