The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today joined the call for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be arrested during his visit to Hungary after Israeli forces killed 22 people, including nine children, at a UNRWA clinic in Jabaliya.
The Hungarian government decided to defy the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for crimes against humanity and war crimes for Benjamin Netanyahu, who is visiting the country.

Israeli strikes killed 22 people, nine of whom were children, at an UNRWA clinic housing displaced persons in Jabaliya refugee camp today. Since dawn, Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling on the southern and central Gaza Strip have killed 50 people and wounded many others, including women and children.

“It is not surprising that the autocrat Viktor Orban is defying the decision of the International Criminal Court and giving shelter to indicted war criminal Netanyahu as his government slaughters children in Gaza,” said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad. “If the international community is serious about not letting the Israeli government get away with its genocide and atrocities, it should exert pressure on Hungary to arrest Mr. Netanyahu.”
Yesterday, CAIR called the State Department’s response to the Israeli killing of Nine Palestine Red Crescent (PRCS) medics and several civil defense workers “shameful.” CAIR also called on the United States and the international community to pressure Israel to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza after all the bakeries in the strip closed citing shortages of flour and diesel.
