(LOS ANGELES, CA – 9/25/2023) – The Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) today condemned the distribution of antisemitic flyers in a San Luis Obispo, Calif., neighborhood this weekend.
On Sunday, the start of Yom Kippur, plastic bags containing leaflets with antisemitic messages were found in yards and driveways in the neighborhood around Leff and Broad streets. This incident is similar to those that occurred throughout Southern California earlier this year.

In a statement, CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush said:
“We are seeing an alarming increase in antisemitism and hate-fueled activity that urgently needs to be addressed. Members of the Jewish community, like all other communities, deserve to feel safe in their homes and neighborhoods and must be able to celebrate their holidays free from bigotry and hate.
“We stand with our Jewish neighbors and look forward to those responsible being apprehended.”
