On Sunday, Feb. 23, the Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) will host its second annual Muslim Community Action Network (MCAN) civic engagement event to recap 2024, discuss its plans for 2025, and analyze what a second Trump term means for the American Muslim community.
The event will feature Muslim American racial justice and civil rights activists Linda Sarsour and Shaun King. Sarsour is a Palestinian American community organizer and the executive director and co-founder of MPower Change. King is a journalist, author, and co-founder of the Grassroots Law Project.
CAIR-LA launched MCAN in February 2024 to create a network of Muslims across Southern California to build political power through community organizing, voter education and registration, knowledge-sharing, and mobilization.
