The Massachusetts chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MA) today welcomed the sentencing of a man convicted of a hate crime for reportedly hitting an Asian-American man with his car and threatening to do so to others.
A man was sentenced to 18 months in prison for hitting an Asian-American man with his car several times and threatening to kill several others, including children.

“We welcome the charges in this deeply disturbing case and stand in solidarity with the Asian-American community and all those targeted by violent bigotry,” said CAIR-MA Executive Director Tahirah Amatul-Wadud. “Racist violence cannot be tolerated in our society.”
She said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
