CAIR-MI Condemns Racist Vandalism Targeting Biracial Couple’s Home in Michigan

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) today condemned the racist vandalism of a biracial couple’s home in Brown City.

The FBI is investigating a suspected hate crime after a bi-racial family’s home was broken into and vandalized with racial slurs spray painted on the walls. Video from the family shows holes in the walls, black paint spilled on the floor and vulgar and racist language sprayed throughout the house. Words we can print include “go away” and “leave.” The family is moving to Ohio. One of the daughters returned to the home on McMorran Street to pick up more items and found destruction and hate inside.

“We condemn this despicable attack on a family’s home and thank law enforcement authorities for investigating,” said CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid. “No family deserves to be terrorized in their own home and those who would commit such an act must be brought to justice.”
