(CANTON, MI, 2/17/2023) – The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI), a local chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on Michigan lawmakers to include explicit religious protections in Senate Bill 4.
Proposed amendments to the Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act leave religious institutions vulnerable to expensive lawsuits if religious protections are excluded.
