(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 5/20/2020) – the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) today condemned Islamophobic attack ads by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) targeting Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
In a statement, CAIR-MN Executive Director Jaylani Hussein said:
“These ads are a blatant and reprehensible Islamophobic attack on Congresswoman Omar. CAIR-MN stands with her to oppose the violence that Israel’s apartheid government is perpetrating and with all those who stand for human rights.
“Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has been a champion of human rights for all people. This situation is no different, and we stand alongside her in condemning the violence that the Israeli government is committing against Palestinian families. We also stand against U.S. support for Israel as it escalates its persecution and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. We call on the Minnesota congressional delegation to also join Speaker Pelosi in condemning these attacks.”
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
