(ST. LOUIS, MO, 11/3/2022) – The Missouri chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MO) today condemned the distribution of antisemitic flyers to homes in Springfield, Mo.
On Saturday morning, residents of West Springfield discovered the hate flyers left on the properties in plastic bags weighed down with rice. Similar flyers have reportedly been distributed in Springfield in August. The Springfield Police Department spokesperson said no report has been filed regarding the flyers as of yet. Police say if they are not targeting someone specifically, the flyers are just considered trash.
“We condemn the distribution of this hateful antisemitic propaganda and stand in solidarity with the community of Springfield,” said CAIR-MO Board Chair Yasir Ali.
He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
