CAIR-MN Condemns Distribution of Racist Materials in Cottage Grove

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 7/3/22) – The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Minnesota) today condemned distribution of racist white supremacist materials to homes in the Cottage Grove, Minn., area.

White supremacist flyers promoting the racist “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory were distributed in plastic baggies weighed down by rice. Cottage Grove police are asking the public for information about the case.

“We condemn this attempt to spread racist conspiracy theories in our state and urge political, religious and community leaders to speak out forcefully against the growing white supremacist threat faced by our nation,” said CAIR-MN Executive Director Jaylani Hussein.

He added that the American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, white supremacy and all other forms of bigotry.
