CAIR-MN Says Community Must Come Together After ‘Politically Motivated’ Shootings of Minnesota State Lawmakers

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 6/14/2025) – The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Minnesota) said the community must come together to support one another after the apparently “politically motivated” shootings of Minnesota lawmakers Melissa Hortman John Hoffman early Saturday morning.

Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed, while Minnesota State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were shot and wounded. A manhunt is underway for the suspect, who may be impersonating a police officer.
