The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, applauds the Kingston City Council for its passage of a ceasefire resolution regarding the genocide in Gaza.

This resolution, approved on July 3, 2024, with a 7-2 vote in favor, calls on leaders in Albany and Washington to continue efforts toward a ceasefire, to protect all life, provide humanitarian aid, and end unrestricted offensive military funding to Israel.
In a statement, CAIR-NY Executive Director, Afaf Nasher, Esq. said:
“This resolution is a positive step towards addressing the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We commend the Kingston City Council for their courage and commitment to promoting peace and supporting humanitarian efforts.”
