CAIR-NY Condemns Hate Crime Mugging and Assault of Asian Woman

The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) today condemned the hate crime mugging and assault of an Asian woman in Brooklyn.

The woman was walking on a busy street in downtown Brooklyn when two individuals approached her. One reportedly made anti-Asian remarks while the other took her cell phone and caused minor injuries to her. NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident.
