CAIR-Pittsburgh Condemns Distribution of KKK Material in Charleroi

The Pittsburgh chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Pittsburgh), a chapter of the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the distribution of a digital flyer promoting the racist Ku Klux Klan in Charleroi, Pennsylvania.

The flyer, shared on a community Facebook page, encouraged residents to join the KKK, spread racist propaganda targeting immigrants, and called for armed resistance.

In a statement, CAIR-Pittsburgh Executive Director Christine Mohamed said:

“We are appalled by the circulation of racially charged material promoting the Ku Klux Klan in our community. Such hate-filled messages seek to sow division, incite violence, and target marginalized groups, threatening the very foundation of our diverse society.

“We commend Charleroi officials for their swift response and urge community members to stay vigilant against such dangerous rhetoric. It is essential that we stand united in rejecting hate, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring that everyone feels safe and respected in our community.”

She said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
